Aga Khan Medical College Test Pattern aggregate for MBBS

Entry test for admission in Aga Khan Medical College is held every year in March/April. AKU Medical Admission for entry test registration are announced in March. Total seats for MBBS are 100. Aga Khan Medical College is known to be the best Private Sector Medical College in Pakistan.

After qualifying entry test candidates are shortlisted for interview. Short listing for interviews is based on combination of Secondary School achievement and the AKU Admission Test score. A student is eligible for admission into Aga Khan Medical College if he qualifies entry test as well as interview.

AKU Entry Test Pattern

AKU MBBS Entry Test comprises of two sections: Section 1 on English with a total allocated time of 1 hour; and Section 2 on science and mathematics with a total allocated time of 2 hours and 15 minutes. Format of the two sections is given below,

Section 1: English

  • Reading comprehension
  • Error detections
  • Sentence completion

Time allotted = 1 hours.

Section 2: Science and Mathematics

  • Biology (20 MCQs)
  • Chemistry (20 MCQs)
  • Physics (20 MCQs)
  • Science reasoning (30 MCQs)
  • Mathematics reasoning (30 MCQs)

Total MCQs = 120

Time allotted = 2 hours & 15 minutes.

There is negative marking only for the Biology, Chemistry and Physics sub-section where every wrong answer loses 0.25 marks.

Aga Khan Medical College Eligibility Criteria

  • The students who have successfully completed or are in the process of completing their HSSC (FSc Pre-medical) can apply for the test.
  • Candidates of following systems of education (i.e A-level) other than the Pakistani system will be required to submit equivalence certificate from the Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC) in Pakistan. The qualification must be equivalent to the pre-medical qualification in Pakistan.

The completed application form should be posted by registered mail or sent through a reliable courier service to address prescribed on application form or delivered in person to the Admission Office in AKU Karachi.
